Admission Requirements

  1. For admission to 1st year of undergraduate course , a candidate must have completed 17 years of age before 1st October of the academic year in which admission is sought.(The vice- Chancellor may, on the basis of individual merit of the case, relax the age limit upto a maximum period of one year after a candidate has been admitted by the college and the application is mad through the Principal of the college. The upper age limit for admission to first year class will ordinarily be 22 years for girls as on 1st October of the academic year.
  2. Candidates seeking admission to a course must fill the application form for admission available at college counter. Candidates should fill separate forms if they wish to apply for more than one course. The centralized pre-admission forms are also accepted at the college counter.
  3. Those applying for M.A. course must, in addition. Register themselves with the Dean of faculty concerned at the University of Delhi. M.A. students are expected to attend tutorials in the college and lectures in the University departments.
  4. The candidate should qualify within the notified cut-off percentage of marks (including subject weightage) as declared by the college or be selected on the basis of Entrance Test/ Interview/ Audition Test/ Sports Trials in the courses where they are applicable.
  5. A candidate who has passed in the following examination can be considered for admission to the first year of B.A. Programme/ B. Sc Programme/ B. A. (Hons)/ B. Com (Hons)/ B. Com Course:
    • Senior School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto (pass in four subjects- one language and three elective subjects).
    • OR

      Pre-University Examination (2 years after 1 year of schooling) of an Indian University recognized by the University of Delhi.

      OR

      Intermediate Examination of an Indian University/ Board or an examination recognized as equivalent to that.
    • Indian School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the Council of Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi. General Certificate of Education Examination of U. K.
    • (a) Pass in five subjects at ordinary level and
      (b) At least in two subjects at advanced level. These two advanced courses may either be chosen from among the five ordinary lelvel subjects or four outside this group as prescribed by the University of Delhi.
  6. Candidates should have passed the Senior School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the CBSE, New Delhi or equivalent held in 2009. In exceptional cases, gap year cases are considered for admission, but they have to provide valid reason and proof of t he gap year. In this, the decision of the Admission Committee is final.
  7. Total number of seats in each course and the number of seats for various categories including SC/ ST/ OBC etc. would be known only after the relevant sanctions are received form the university by the college.
  8. Admission will be made strictly on the basis of merit and performance at the interview.
  9. No individual information will be sent regarding acceptance or rejection of application of a candidate. The list of minimum marks acceptable for different courses will be displayed on the notice board from time to time, according to the University schedule. It is the duty of the student to check up the list and come for interview and pay the fees as prescribed.
  10. Applicants who fail to appear for the interview or pay the fees within the time, will be dropped from the list of applicants to be considered.
  11. The Principal has the right to refuse admission to any candidate without assigning any reason and also to disallow any particular combination depending on the availability of seats.

Admission Procedure

  1. Kalindi College accepts the common Pre-Admission of the University of Delhi. Candidate must bring acknowledge/ entrance test admit slip of being applied in the college. If you are eligible for admission, as per the college criteria, then you are entitled to fill the college admission form attached with prospectus on the prescribed days of admission.
  2. Your name in the application form should be the same as in your date of birth certificate.
  3. Admission will be made strictly on merit and first come first served basis within a cut off list.
  4. Candidates seeking admission are required to report directly to respective Teachers -in-charge.
  5. The following documents are to be submitted with the application form in original along with the attested photocopies:

  6. i. Provisional Certificate from the school/ institution last attended.
    ii. Mark sheet of last examination passed.
    iii. Class X certificate as date of birth certificate.
    iv. A separate character certificate from the institution last attended in case it is not apart of provisional certificate.
    v. Two recent passport size photographs
    vi. Marksheet of class X for verification of the level of study in English and Hindi language.
    vii. Certificate for verification of compulsory examination passed in Hindi/ English (10th or 8th class)
    viii. In case of schedule caste/ tribe or backward classes candidates, the caste/ tribe or backward class certificate in the name of the candidate.
    ix. Income certificate if the student belongs to scheduled caste/ tribe or backward classes.
    x. School college leaving certificate or university migration certificate. In case, may of the above certificate is not available please contact Convenor, Admission committee.
  7. Applicants admitted to the first year undergraduate course in the college will have to deposit the prescribed admission fee within a period specified in the notice of admission. Failure to deposit fee within the specified period will automatically lead to cancellation of admission.
  8. It is compulsory for all new entrants to attend the orientation programme to be held at 9.30 a.m on 15th July in college auditorium. Students will be introduce to the faculty members and also to the various facets of college life. Parents are also invite to be present on the occasion.
  9. All the students must carry identity card to the college everyday, if the identity card is lost, a fresh card can be obtained on application on payment of Rs. 50/-
  10. Migration from other universities will be allowed if seats are available. No direct admission in second year honours courses is allowed as per Delhi University rules.
  11. Transfer from B.A./ B. Sc (Hons) IInd year to B.A./ B. Sc Programme IInd year and vice versa is permissible as per University rules.
  12. Migration to other colleges in IInd year ordinarily will not be allowed.
