The Department of Political Science organised the 69th Republic Day of India on 24th January 2018. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Shri Prahlad Krishnakant Rebhe, a freedom fighter of Goa Muktisangram. The celebration was started with the hoisting of Indian Flag followed by National Anthem. Principal, Dr. Anula Maurya inspired the students by her words. She talked about women empowerment and student’s participation in the nation building. Shri Rebhe discussed about the present Indian progress and the Goan movement. He said that the Goan independence had gained momentum, inspired by the Indian independence movement, which had entered its crucial phase in 1946. Shri Rebhe himself was the member of Goa Action Committee, he coordinated with various anti-colonial groups working independently in Mumbai and around. Many protests were organised by Shri Rebhe ji. He motivated the students to work for a better India. He said that the country has been hailed as one of the most prominent countries. It is because of the perfect blend and of various cultures, castes, traditions, people, etc. of this country which makes it to be famous all over the world.
