Departmental Introduction (History, career opportunities)

The course of B.A. (Programme) was introduced in July, 2004 by University of

Delhi. However it was running as B.A. (Pass.) course from 1967 to June, 2004.

This new course was similar to the old one in some ways, but there were

significant differences between the two. The new integrated, interdisciplinary

BA Programme was an attempt to make undergraduate education "more

relevant to the immediate environment," and introduced a whole array of new

subjects offering choice to the students.

The BA Programme broadly consists of discipline, language, foundation and

application courses. Students have to study two subjects every semester

consisting of two discipline courses that are usually comprise subjects such as

Economics, History, Political Science, Geography, Computer Application

Entrepreneurship English and Hindi Literature, Mathematics, Sanskrit and

Music etc.
