Aim

All along its journey of learning, this department has achieved great heights, especially under the leadership of erstwhile Principals, namely, Dr. Dua, Dr. Nirmal Kapil and Dr. Malti.  Now under the constant guidance of our Principal Dr. Anula Maurya, this department has achieved far greater heights than before and students have shown excellence not only in academics, but also in various extracurricular activities.

This department aims at providing opportunities for students to explore areas of mathematics outside the classrooms and to enhance inter-student communication and co-operation. The goal is to enable students to express mathematical ideas more creatively and to develop their talent whilst making them confident, capable and responsible human beings. The department provides a platform for promotion of mathematical interests by hosting various useful events throughout the year, such as the following:

  • Talks by renowned academicians in the field;
  • Paper presentations by students in the field;
  • Mathematical Quizzes, Treasure Hunt and Extempore competitions;
  • Various other activities like Rangoli making, Poster making and Pictionary, etc.

The strength of the department roots from the encouragement of the Principal and active participation of its members, be it teachers or students.
