The Placement Cell of Kalindi College, been in existence for quite some time, was rechristened ‘Kryptus’ in September 2017 with the induction of 15 student members in the placement cell team. The induction of the student council was to have representation of students in the placement cell to better understand their needs and to smooth the channels of communication and information dissemination. As has always been, the foremost focus of the Placement Cell is to provide the undergraduate students of the college with opportunities to intern and get placed in reputed organizations in the private sector be it multinational companies or the NGOs. A related challenge is to equip students with the skills to face the process of screening and selection used by potential employers.
In October 2017, a three-day workshop was conducted by T.I.M.E.'s group in the college comprising sessions on resume making, group discussion and personal interview by soft skills trainers and experts- Mr. Ankur Jain, Mr. G.N. Mishra and, Mr. Amit Poddar.
In November 2017, team Kryptus felt the necessity to provide students with a practical knowledge of the corporate world before the students could actually step into it. The Outlook group was invited to the college for conducting Internship Drive for the sales & marketing posts. Around 40 students registered for the same. The selection process included group discussion and personal interview. 25 students were successfully recruited by the company for winter internship.
In December 2017, faculty members Ms. NilanshuYaduvanshi and Ms. Indu Choudhary conceptualized and designed the placement brochure with useful inputs from Dr. Anula Maurya, the honourable Principal of Kalindi College and the Teacher In charges of various departments.
In January 2018, placement drive was conducted by Jai Steel FaciliationPvt. Ltd, a leading business & service provider offering job profiles related documentation, business development and support. 25 students appeared for the interview out of which 12 students were selected and placed successfully.
Further, in January 2018, another placement drive was conducted by the Global Arcus group offering job profile of management consultant & senior manager. Amongst 24 students who appeared for the interview, 3 students were placed successfully.
To further hone the skills of students and to boost their confidence, the Placement Cell organized a mock interview session and mock group discussions for the third-year students to help them get an insight of the procedures of actual recruitment process and hence prepare them for the future placement drives. More than 250 students turned up for the event which was conducted successfully within the premises.
In February 2018, Freshman Adda, a start-up with a vision to help students meet their desired interests conducted an Internship drive. The drive was conducted through group discussions followed by personal interviews. 21 students appeared for the same out of which 6 students were selected. The profiles offered by Freshman Adda were campus ambassador, content writer, social media marketer.
Realizing that skill building is a continuous process, team Kryptus organized another mock interview session which was conducted by Mr. Sunil Dua of T.I.M.E. where students were given an insight of an actual interview by interviewing 4 students in the presence of 50 students and sharing the feedback.
On 27th February 2018, the Placement Cell organised its first ever mega event, The Internship Fair 2018 where 20 companies like Sharekhan, VQMS and NGOs like Youwecan, Upay were invited. More than 250 students including students from other DU colleges participated in the internship fair. The Internship Fair observed over 490 online and offline registrations by the enthusiastic students.
In collaboration with Triege Solutions, team Kryptus would be engaging students into a virtual online Internship Fair Program with more than 250 companies which would further help the students in realising the merits of work experience.
The Placement Cell has collaborated with GTT-Nasscom to arrange for a continuous mentoring programme by the HR team of Barclays which will involve around 20-25 third year students who will get an opportunity to visit to the Barclays Corporate office and job opportunities to work with the company. The mentorship programme shall be preceded by an online test and a two-day intensive workshop on interview, employability and corporate skills by GTT and Nasscom for shortlisting the before mentioned 25 students on 21-22nd March 2018.
Team Kryptus is also working in close coordination with Yes Bank for an Internship Program. They would be offering students a one-week intensive classroom training by renowned industry leaders on leadership, marketing, communications, digital and social media and a seven-week placement in NGOs to work on well-defined communication projects.
In April 2018, the Placement Cell would be organising a Job fair with 25 companies like Eureka Forbes, Decathlon which deals in sports goods online in India, Convergys which is a leading provider of customer management solutions for companies across India, Capgemini which is a global leader in consulting, technology and outsourcing services and many others.
