Report On Inaugural Session Cum Seminar
TOPIC: GENDER IN THE CONTEXT OF PATRIARCHY
 
Women Development Centre Kalindi College has organized its inaugural session cum seminar on the topic ‘GENDER IN THE CONTEXT OF PATRIARCHY’ on the Thursday, 17th September, 2015. ß Chief Guest : Sh. Sandeep Kumar Hon’ble Minister, Social Welfare, Women & Child, SC & ST, Govt. of NCT of Delhi. ß Guest of Honor : Prof. BulBul-Dhar-James Director, Sarojini Naidu Study Centre Jamia Millia Islamia University On the 17th of September 2015 Women Development centre of Kalindi College honoured by the arrival of Hon’ble Minister Sh. Sandeep kumar and Prof. BulBul – Dhar – James. The programme was started by the lighting the lamp and Inaugral speech given by Respected Principal Kalindi College, Dr. Anula Maurya. Hon’ble Minister Sh Sandeep Kumar Spoke about his career in politics as how he got involved in ‘Anna Hazare’s Movement’ and his contribution to Delhi Government as a Minister of Social Welfare, Women & Child, SC & ST. Prof. BulBul – Dhar – James influenced the Students and teachers by inspiring to share ‘ONE BILLION RISING’. One Billion Rising is a global movement, founded by Eve Ensler, to end rape and sexual violence against women. It was started in 2012 as part of the V-Day movement. The "billion" refers to the UN statistic that one in three women will be raped or beaten in her lifetime, or about one billion which is a mass gathering of all the people of different countries. This programme cum gathering was for the protection of women and their freedom. She talked about Madam Kamala Bhasin for her contribution for the programme One Million Rising. One beautiful documentary movie shown by her. Her words motivated the students for fighting against violence. The session was ended with the vote of thanks to Hon’ble Minister Sh. Sandeep Kumar and Chef Guest Prof. BulBul – Dhar – James for their presence in the college.
