This Department has been working as an integral part from the very beginning of various courses in the college that comes under Bachelor of Science in General and/or Life Sciences Stream. Opting for Zoology and Life Sciences:

 

Studying Zoology and Life Sciences means obtaining an in depth knowledge into the realms of animal life. It focuses on the study of biodiversity of animals, their conservation, behavior, morphology, physiology, embryology, etc. The student is also introduced to environmental management and applied biology along with an understanding of Cell and Molecular biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics.

 

This aids in forming a future basis for careers in research in recombinant DNA technology, DNA fingerprinting, Gene cloning, Drug discovery, Drug designing, Vaccines, diagnostics and forensics.

 

Both courses aim to enhance awareness and impart knowledge on prevailing global issues of conservation that affect sustainability. These courses also offer diverse opportunities for higher studies and jobs in research and teaching.

 

Various higher study options are:

 

  • M.Sc. in Life Sciences/Botany/Zoology/Applied Zoology/Clinical research/Biotechnology/Microbiology/Biomedical science
